Orange Kombi by Elizabeth Quinn

Features

ARTIST NOTES: Inspired by the Volkswagen 'Samba' which was the top of the range of all their vans. Production started in 1951 and it took off in both Europe, the US and Australia. In Australia the van was known by the number of windows - this one is a 23 window version. There are eight small skylight windows on the roof. They were promoted as the perfect feature for scenic trips through the mountains or in this case the coast.

ARTIST BIO

Ten years ago, I embarked on my artistic journey by enrolling in a 'Painting for adult beginners' class at the Brunswick studio of the Fitzroy Painters. Under the guidance of skilled instructors Adriane Strampp and later Kez Hughes in the Atelier class.

I started with humble beginnings but soon discovered a passion for oil painting. With their expert tuition, encouragement, and valuable advice, I honed my skills and gained valuable insights. This progress led me to participate in various group exhibitions, including those with the Fitzroy Painters, Print Maker Gallery, Victorian Art Society, Melbourne and Victorian Artists, Sherbrooke Art Gallery and Rotary Community Art shows.

Now, this profile marks a new chapter in my artistic journey—a step towards joining a vibrant online community where I can share my artistic impressions of landscapes, houses, and caravans with a wider audience.
