ARTIST NOTES: In capturing this image, I was drawn to the stark contrast between fire and frost—where a dead tree, encased in ice, stood against the blazing hues of an alpine sunset. Its twisted limbs reached skyward like frozen tendrils of flame, the bark aglow in golds and reds, despite the subzero silence of its surroundings.

This scene speaks to the resilience of the Australian high country, where life and death coexist in a landscape shaped by extremes. The skeletal tree, though lifeless, becomes a symbol of endurance and quiet defiance—its beauty intensified by the very elements that once wore it down.

Through this work, I hoped to explore that paradox: the warmth found in cold, and the quiet power of nature even in its stillest moments.

Printed on metal with a modern floating frame, Frozen Flame is a limited edition fine art print. Only 5 will ever be made.

Available in a 90cm x 90cm and 1m x 1m
